As we know, the physical body can be measured in weight or distance or in whatever amount or mass is present there. On the contrary, a metaphysical aspect cannot be measured. How to understand it, then? The distance between point A and point B could be measured in a centimeter, a meter, or a light year. Similarly, a mass has some weight and it takes some space. The wonderful thing is that with spirituality we can’t talk about the mass, distance or space, and even the concept of time.
For example, a mother loves her child. That is something common, and there is nothing unusual about it. But, by loving her child, she comes to feel what love is. If she only loves her child and hates her neighbor’s child, then that is a negative aspect of her spirituality. She doesn’t know exactly the meaning of love and attachment. Actually, in a sense, when she loves, mostly blindly, her child and hates blindly her neighbor’s child, by nature, she dwells like in a primary school of spirituality. She, in a sense, finds love and attachment only for her child.
What kind of human spirituality expects a person or a mother to love all children? None! It’s impossible and actually it’s not even necessary. What’s needed is just to understand the spirituality. Love is the basic source of understanding spirituality.
When a mother shifts her affinity and love to a reasonable degree and finds a point of C and D which is different from the point A and B. The points A and B are opposite to each other, supposing A is love and B is hatred) Hatred makes her jealous and angry. She wants to calm down. Spirituality suggests a relatively cool place to stay. You love your child, and that is okay, but why do you hate…? The affinity and love towards your child suggests you think about how attached you are to your child. But, similarly, there is also your neighbor’s mother who would be too attached to her child as you are! This way, there are countless children who all must have their mothers! You do not need to love them all. You simply need to understand that the love you feel for your own child is the same feeling and affinity that would exist in the hearts of all mothers. Immediately, when you realize this, you step up high in the school of spirituality. Suddenly you become, your emotion stands with a sound reason, your mind gets fixed and stays cool. The instability of your mind goes down and you become lighter. You have no negative thoughts now.
Imagine how a person’s emotion becomes infinite?! Hatred and attachments to our own things are common, but a realized vision that comes through a realized mind or awakened mind is somewhat rare. You do not need to fix your mind and get lessons from a teacher or an institution. These things are just as simple as that! But simple things are not so simple…!
What have you seen in this example?
The sense of spirituality has no obstacle, no distance, no space or time. The vision of a mother suddenly goes far up to a never-ending space. The mother of Siberia or Africa and the mother of London or Canada have the same affinity and a sense of respect for other children, even for the children of the entire world! Hence, a spiritual person has no distance, no religion, no concept of black or white, and no space or relation. Spiritual people are above anything. Love has no obstacle. Hence, it is the base of metaphysics. Hatred or attachment or stickiness to something has a limit or an obstacle, hence it is physical.
What is life then?
Life is going from physics to metaphysics or going beyond!
