Understanding metaphysical aspects of life means understanding our surroundings too. Wherever we live, there are surroundings and do we feel connected to them? Particularly with living elements like plants, animals, and birds..! Our gardener might be a good neighbor. There are several plants and flowers, vegetables and trees – all existing in the union. But do we notice it…? Have we tried to connect with them? Have we tried to converse with them, or try to understand if they want to say something?
Maybe not all plants, but some speak a lot to us. They are highly respected in all our society and almost worshiped. They are holy basil. Tulsi is holy basil, and she (considered to be a feminine group of plants) is respected and worshiped in India, thoroughly. She has abundant medicinal properties, too. How much she is connected and she co-exists like a family member. Below is a true stories.
A person had a flat on the upper floor. On his back corridor, there was a little plant of Tulsi growing in a pot. On the ground floor, just below the house where the person was living, were grown-up mango trees, full of leaves. In that shade, 4-5 plants of Tulsi existed. How they took birth, was unknown. Maybe some birds would’ve spread the seeds. Anyway, it is necessary to let you know that the ground floor house was empty. No one lived there for months. Tulsi is a fragile plant and she needs frequent care, at least water. Because, in that ground floor there was a pipeline and it was not properly closed, hence enough water drained and that might make Tulsi plants gain the required moisture. During the hot season, the hungry soil used to suck moisture, causing small plants to dry up. But the person living on the upper floor out of calling or whatever the reason could be, who got notice of it and from his floor started watering those little plants from above. He would splash water from his floor. And it became a regular practice. He had his Tulsi in a pot. Meantime, being a government servant, he has to leave the town and join another place at a much distance. Some weeks left to live there. But, he still kept his routine of watering daily in the morning. Naturally, he would think that who would take care of them after his and his family’s departure? As soon, as a couple of days on his departure, almost all Tulsi plants, including his own, faded away. They died simultaneously. That was shocking! Sure, it was not an accident. Ground floors’ plants died, it was ok, but why his own Tulsi…? He never would’ve left her…, he must be carrying her along with his family. What emotions compelled them to die together? We have super stories around if we can be able to connect with them.
