What is Spirituality ?

Spirituality or metaphysics – what are these?  Where do they exist? How can we find them? Are they far or near?

Is it a matter or beyond that? Could it be seen, could it be felt, or realized, could our logic catch it

on? Is it a subject and/or an object or both? It can be within an object, or outside an object but how

it could be grasped ?

We have a universe. We have matter. We have objects. We have energy. When there’s a science of

understanding through our senses, through our visions, through looking or diving inside of us, then

we encounter Spirituality.

Let’s talk about it using some examples.

Example 1

Mister P is eating a piece of fruit. That fruit is nice and tasty. Mister P is hungry and satisfies his appetite with great pleasure as he loves that fruit. He, for a while, is lost in this action. He exists but he’s very confined, he has been restrained just on his own taste, the appetite, and the fruit. All his other senses: seeing, hearing or touching went one way – Now his taste only is important. The best part of his existence seems to be dissolved or lost. In a literary sense, he has merged to satisfy his appetite through the delicious taste of the fruit.

The subject is Mister P and the object is the fruit. And what’s the result? The consequence or the result is that he feels an unexplainable delight, although for a short while. The amount of his assimilation to his object (the fruit) and through this assimilation of his consciousness into it, the amount of being ‘lost’ should be described as his ‘spiritual gain. His spiritual feeling is his amount of delight, in a sense. His spiritual or his ability to go beyond the physical existence, although only for a while, is called a metaphysical sphere where he feels so much different from that of his normal or physical plane.

So what happened in the above example?

1– There was a man (creature) as the subject.

2 – There was an object (the fruit).

3 – There was a particular time that created a situation that was thrilling for a man, who

seemed hungry and wanted to satisfy his hunger, and his favorite fruit was available.

4 -There was an object and a subject that were in an interaction at a given point in time to a

given space.

5 – The person is seen to be delighted and content. That said, this virtue belongs to his inner

whole. It can’t be measured. It can’t be seen. It can only be felt /realized.

Realization.

Realization is the key to spirituality and to realize it, we need an inner eye or inner vision. In my view, we need a vision in order to understand spirituality. We should open the inner eyes and look inside. Spirituality doesn’t exist far from us. It exists within us. It is not outside; it’s always with us at the point of zero distance. Our existence becomes infinite as deeper we go beyond the physical sphere of existence.

How our life or existence becomes wide or goes beyond any physical plane?

Exemple 2:

Suppose you’re watching a photo or film and see a dark forest with an elephant. That elephant is angry and in a mood to destroy whatever things come his way. Suddenly, you can feel havoc or panic as if you’re present there in front of an angry elephant. Your body and all senses become cramped, dumped, and, out of fear, you start feeling a chill that could make you ill. This dark side effect is also happening as  a delight, but the elephant story is an anti-delight. It’s fear. This above phenomenon is also a sort of spirituality, although, this is the other side of the coin. Spirituality is not always a question of delight; it is the opposite of it, too.

Now, what happens with the two examples above ?

In example no.1 – the subject dissolves to his object.

In example no. 2 – the subject dissolves into his imaginary surroundings. Imaginary atmosphere.

You can say: Wow!

At first, things were solid, existing. In the second instance, things were in motion or action but in the person’s fantasy only. Amazing, isn’t it ?

Here in his fantasy, his existence becomes wide, and omnipresence. Actually, he is in his room and watching a TV show, but, mentally, he feels like he is surrounded by a forest and an angry elephant is approaching to kill him.

These are like the two sides of a coin.

What makes a subject spiritual? It’s just going beyond their physical plane?
